Dickeyville, Wis., Police Chief David Reuter describes a speed display sign he installed earlier this year

Dialogue from Chief Reuter (Village of Dickeyville WI) video interview about his Evolis Radar Speed Sign.

“Up to the speed limit I have the messages say “Thank You” or “Welcome” but as the vehicles go faster  I can put a different message such as  “Slow Down” or “Too Fast” to get the drivers attention on their speed.

It also records data such as vehicles speed, time of day etc. I can put it on a side street and get an idea of how much traffic is going by and when offenders might be going through.  I can also turn the display off and have it still collect data.”

It’s very easy to move. I can put it on a post or on the back of a pickup truck for a few days at a time to gather data. It’s a 5-10 minute process moving it from one location to another and the batteries last for 7-10 days.”
